The lectures on those two great skeptics Galileo and Darwin start at 1:30pm, October 25. However, the room where the lectures are opens at 1pm and this room must be closed up by 4pm at the very latest. Consequently, drinks would be happening at about 4pm. If you are attending the meeting please arrive at or before 1:30pm so that the meeting can start on time.
In October 1609, Galileo Galilei began observations with a two-lens telescope that eventually led him to discover the four main satellites of Jupiter and realise that the Earth’s moon was pitted with craters and not a perfect sphere.
